GENERAL  DESCRIPTION

The  charging  system   includes  the  battery,  gen erator, 

regu la to r,  te llta le   light,  and  n ecessary  w irin g  to  connect 

these  components.  The  D elcotron   is  o ffered   as  standard 
equipment,  although  there  a re  variou s  capacities  a v a il­
able  on  a ll  m odels.

The  D elcotron   continuous  output  A .C .  gen erator  (fig s . 

l c   and  4c)  consists  o f  two  m ajor  parts,  a  stator  and  a

ro to r.  The  stator  is  com posed  o f a  la rg e   number  o f wind­
ings  assem bled  on  the  inside  o f  a  lam inated  core  that  is 

attached  to  the  gen era tor  fram e.  The  ro to r  re v o lv e s  
within  the  stator  on  b earin gs  located  in  each  end  fram e. 
T w o  brushes  a re  requ ired   to  ca rry   current  through  the 

two  slip  rin gs  to  the  fie ld   co ils   wound  concentric  with  the 
shaft  o f the  ro to r.  Six  r e c t ifie r   diodes  a re  mounted  in  the
