REPLACEMENT
REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT
(a)
Remove the radiator cap.
CAUTION:
See step 2. (a) above.
(b)
Drain the coolant from the radiator drain cock and engine
drain plug (Engine drain plug at the left of engine block.).
(c)
Close the drain plugs.
Torque:Torque (Engine drain plug):
29 N·m (300 kgf·cm, 22 ft·lbf)
(d)
Slowly fill the system with coolant.

Use a good brand of ethylene
−
glycol base coolant
and mix it according to the manufacturer’s direc-
tions.
S
Using coolant which includes more than 50 % ethyl-
ene
−
glycol (but not more than 70 %) is recom-
mended.
NOTICE:
Do not use an alcohol type coolant.The coolant should be
mixed with demineralized water or distilled water.
Capacity:
w/ Front heater:
13.7 liters (14.4 US qts, 12.1 lmp. qts)
w/ Front and rear heaters:
14.7 liters (15.5 US qts, 12.9 lmp. qts)
(e)
Reinstall the radiator cap.
(f)
Warm up the engine and check for leaks.
(g)
Recheck the coolant level and refill as necessary.
