Chapter 4: Utility Commands
215
clear vlan
This command resets VLAN configuration parameters to the factory defaults.
When the VLAN configuration is reset to the factory defaults, there are some
scenarios regarding GVRP and MVRP that happen due to this:
1.
Static VLANs are deleted.
2.
GVRP is restored to the factory default as a result of handling the VLAN
RESTORE NOTIFY event. Since GVRP is disabled by default, this means
that GVRP should be disabled and all of its dynamic VLANs should be
deleted.
3.
MVRP is restored to the factory default as a result of handling the VLAN
RESTORE NOTIFY event. Since MVRP is enabled by default, this means
that any VLANs already created by MVRP are unaffected. However, for
customer platforms where MVRP is disabled by default, then the MVRP
behavior should match GVRP. That is, MVRP is disabled and the MVRP
VLANs are deleted.
logout
This command closes the current telnet connection or resets the current serial
connection.
Note
Save configuration changes before logging out.
ping
Use this command to determine whether another computer is on the network.
Ping provides a synchronous response when initiated from the CLI.
