Operator’s Manual
8 Elastography
Perform the following procedure:
1.
Select the ELC13-4U probe and prostate exam mode, and then switch to the linear plane.
2.
Perform 2D scan to locate the region.
3.
Tap [Elasto] > [STE] on the touch screen. Or press the user-defined <STE> key to enter the
STE mode.
The dual windows of B+STE images are displayed.
4.
Adjust the ROI size and position, and press <Update> to start acquisition.
5.
Freeze the image and save a single frame image.
6.
Unfreeze the image, and repeat steps 4-5 to acquire images of all necessary planes for
systematic prostate biopsy.
7.
Open the saved single frame image and select [M-Ref. E Biopsy].
The dual windows of STE+B images are displayed.
8.
Move the probe to find the plane of high similarity between B and STE.
The similarity value between B and STE is displayed in real time.
9.
Perform biopsy procedure and save the biopsy images.
10. Select the single frame image of other planes in the touch screen in turn.
The STE images in the left window is updated synchronously.
11. Repeat steps 8-10 to finish the biopsy procedure for all planes.
12. Freeze the image and exit M-Ref. E Biopsy.
Similarity
It is used to indicate the similarity between STE and B images based on plane matching condition
of tissue form. The higher the matching degree of the STE and B planes, the larger the value.
NOTE:
Other parameters are the same as those of the Elasto or STE/STQ modes.
