8 Elastography

8.2.5 PZ Tracking (Peripheral Zone Tracking)
It is used to automatically recognize the peripheral zone boundary of the prostate, as well as
automatically measure the prostate, and hardest/softest point of the prostate.
1.
Select the ELC13-4U probe and prostate exam mode, and then switch to the linear plane.
2. Perform 2D scan to locate the region.
3. Tap [Elasto] > [STE] on the touch screen. Or press the user-defined <STE> key to enter the
STE mode.
The dual windows of B+STE images are displayed.
4. Tap [PZ Tracking] on the touch screen to enable the function in acquisition preparation mode.
5. Turn on [Auto ROI] to automatically adjust the ROI position and size to cover the prostate.
Tap [PZ Opacity] to adjust the opacity feature of the Elasto image if necessary.
6. Press <Update> to start acquisition.
7. Freeze the image or save a single-frame image or cine file.
If the tracking result is not satisfactory, you can manually edit the boundary.
a. Tap [PZ Edit] in the freezing mode or by opening a saved single-frame image or cine file.
b. Use the trackball and <Set> key to manually edit the boundary of the peripheral zone.
8. Press <Measure> to enter application measurement and perform measurement under the
“Prostate AutoElas.” item.
9. Save a single image to save the data to report.
