5. For a 7026 or a 7040 with a SP Switch2 PCI adapter, do the following:

/usr/lpp/ssp/css/ifconfig css0 down detach

In a dual-plane environment, this could be performed on css0, css1 or both.

11. Determine if the SP Switch2 PCI Attachment Adapter (css0 or css1) is running any processes using
the following command:
fuser /dev/css0
and/or
fuser /dev/css1
. Kill any processes that are bound
to the adapter.
12. Run the following commands to remove power to the slot into which the adapter is plugged. This
action is necessary to activate the Xilinx update.
echo | /usr/sbin/drslot -R -c pci -l css0 -I
*
echo | /usr/sbin/drslot -R -c pci -l css1 -I
If the previous command is run using
dsh
from the CWS, quotation marks are required around the
entire command as follows:
dsh "echo | /usr/sbin/drslot -R -c pci -l css0 -I"
13. Reboot the server or logical partition. Type:
shutdown -Fr
14. When the server or logical partition is back up, from the CWS, type:
Eunfence -p
x nn
(where

is plane 0 or 1 and

is the node_number of the server or logical partition)
RESPONSE: All nodes successfully unfenced.
