NOTE: The front casters have a brake actuating cable. The position of the brake should be noted as
well as the position of this actuating cable. This is to ensure that when the brake is set, that
the caster brake actuator sets properly. The rear casters will lock in one direction and not
swivel and this needs to be noted as well so that can be set on the new casters if required.
Set Brake and/or Swivel Position

Verify/set the position of the new replacement caster’s brake or swivel actuator. Locate the large
Allen-head screw (swivel release screw) that is located on the shaft area of each of the casters.

Insert a 7/16’’ (11mm) Allen wrench into the hex brake/swivel locking release screw, and rotate it
to the appropriate position noted in Step 8.
NOTE: If unlocking the swivel on the rear casters is desired, rotate the hex screw 90 degrees.
Install the Caster

Reverse the procedures for installation of the Caster and other components removed during this
procedure. Ensure that the brake is set to the correct position as well as the caster prior to install.

Reinstall each wheel back into the Cart, and fully secure the 10mm attachment bolt. (Applying
LocTite 242 thread locking compound to the threads of the bolt is recommended).
13.
Once installation is complete, Tilt the Cart back up onto its wheels, and release the brake
mechanism.
14.
Verify smooth operation and pivoting of the Cart through all movements.
15.
Verify that the brake functions correctly and that each caster locks and the brake functions when
it is set.
