copy licenses
To save a backup of the installed license files, use the
copy licenses
command in EXEC mode.
copy licenses
source-URL destination-URL
Syntax Description
The following table lists the aliases for source and destination URLs.

The copy function will not be completed if the required space is not available in the directory. First
change to the required directory (for example,
cd bootflash:
) and verify the available space (for
example,
dir bootflash:
).
We recommend backingup your license files immediately after installing them and just before issuing a
write erase
command.
Examples
The following example saves a file called Enterprise.tar to the bootflash: directory:
switch#
copy licenses bootflash:/Enterprise.tar
