Hazard
Emergency Action
Fire
• Flammable/combustible material; may be ignited
by heat, sparks or flames.
• Vapors may travel to a source of ignition and
flash back.
• Container may explode in heat of fire.
• Fire may produce irritating or poisonous gases.
• Small fires may be put out with a CO
2
or dry
chemical type extinguisher.
• Large fires may be extinguished with water
spray, fog or foam.
• Move the container from fire area if this can be
performed without risk.
Leak
• Shut off ignition sources. No flames or smoking
in hazard area.
• Stop leak if possible.
• For small spills, take up with sand or other non-
combustible absorbent material and dispose of
properly.
Inhalation
• May be poisonous if inhaled.
• Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation.
• Move victim to fresh air and call emergency med-
ical care. If victim is not breathing perform artifi-
cial respiration.
Skin Contact
• May be poisonous if absorbed through the skin.
• Contact may irritate or burn skin and eyes.
• In case of contact with eyes, flush eyes with run-
ning water for at least 15 minutes.
• In case of contact with skin, wash skin with soap
and water. Remove and isolate clothing and
shoes at the site.
