Allows a static IP Address to be entered including the
IP
Address
,
Subnet Address
,
Router
, and
DNS addresses
.
Obtain an IP address from a DHCP server:
The unit will uses the network's
Dynamic
Host Connection Protocol (DHCP)
server to dynamically assign it an IP address.
When DHCP is selected, the
IP Address
,
Subnet Address, Router, Host
Name, Domain Name
, and
DNS Address
functions are disabled and populated
by the DHCP server after being rebooted
Only choose
Obtain an IP Address from DHCP
if know how to retrieve the
new IP Address automatically assigned from the DHCP server, or your MPA has
an SCM-210 card which displays the obtained IP address.

IP Address:
Enter the unit's IP Address using dotted decimal notation. For
example,
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
, where
nnn
is a value from 0 to 255.
IP addresses
192.168.138.0 through 192.168.138.255
are reserved and
should not be used. A serious system conflict can occur if an IP address in
this range is assigned to the processor.
If you use an IP address in the range of
192.168.x.y
(where
x
is not
138
), then
you
must
set the Subnet Address to
255.255.255.0
.

Subnet Address:
Enter the Subnet Mask Address using dotted decimal notation.
•
Router:
Enter the Router/Gateway Address using dotted decimal notation.
•
DNS Address 1 & 2:
The DNS Addresses should only be modified if specific
DNS Addresses need to be entered for your network, otherwise the default DNS
Addresses do not need to be changed.
•
By default, the
DNS Address 1
(Primary DNS) is configured for
8.8.8.8
,
and the
DNS Address 2
(Secondary DNS) is configured for
8.8.4.4
.
These are public DNS addresses established by Google, and only need to
be modified if being replacing with a network-specific addresses.
When specifying an IP Address, the
Host Name
and
Domain Name
parameters
are preset to "localhost".

In order to fully utilize the MPA system, the MPA system needs access to the following
TCP Ports through your personal or corporate firewall.
