User Defined (1 byte) : Selects a user-defined
Hexadecimal byte value as the transmitted trace
pattern. The byte value is entered and saved using a
touch screen keypad (from 0x00 to 0xFF). The byte
value repeats indefinitely and does not contain CRC-7.
Enable TCM mode (using TC Overhead Processing )
before sending the TC Trace.
The TC trace is part of the TCM Overhead and is known
as the TCM trace or the N1 byte when HP TCM is Enabled or
the N2 byte when LP TCM is Enabled.
SDH Transmit - PTR
Manually changing the Pointer Value provides another method for stress testing a
network to verify if the receiving equipment can detect Pointer Value changes.
The Transmit PTR screen contains the following AU Pointer and TU Pointer options:
TU Pointers are only available when a LP mapping is selected.
Function Description
NDF Flag The NDF Flag allows you to specify whether the NDF bits are
set when a new Pointer is present in the generated signal.
The following options are available:
Yes (On): Generates an NDF when a new Pointer is
transmitted.
No (Off): Disables NDF functionality.
When the NDF Flag setting is On, then the NDF bits are
toggled when a new Pointer value is transmitted, alerting the
receiving device to expect a change in the pointer value.
