SDH Transmit - PTR
Manually changing the Pointer Value provides another method for stress testing a
network to verify if the receiving equipment can detect Pointer Value changes.
The Transmit PTR screen contains the following AU Pointer and TU Pointer options:

Description
NDF Flag
The NDF Flag allows you to specify whether the NDF bits are
set when a new Pointer is present in the generated signal.
The following options are available:
Yes
(On): Generates an NDF when a new Pointer is
transmitted.
No
(Off): Disables NDF functionality.
When the NDF Flag setting is On, then the NDF bits are
toggled when a new Pointer value is transmitted, alerting the
receiving device to expect a change in the pointer value.
