HP Signal Label
The HP (Higher-Order Path) Signal Label is part of the POH
and identifies the type of traffic contained in the SPE. The C2
byte is used to indicate the content of the SPE, including the
status of the mapped payload.
The following options are available:

03 (Lock TU Mode)
•
04 (Async 34M/45M Mapping)
•
12 (Async 140M Mapping)

13 (ATM Mapping)

14 (DQDB Mapping)

1A (10G WAN IEEE802.3ae)

1B (GFP Mapping)
•
FE (O.181 Test Signal)
•
FF (VC-AIS)
•
User Defined
(any eight bit pattern 0 to FF)
This option is coupled with the C2 byte option in the
Transmit Overhead screen. If it is changed in this screen, it
will change in the Overhead screen as well.
