(Specifically for Fibre Channel SAN testing on the Packet tab)
This is an RFC 2544 benchmark test that calculates your network's throughput rate. The
fastest throughput speed is indicated by the rate at which the transmission and
reception of the Ethernet test stream is accomplished without packet loss.
The following options appear on the Thru Put screen:
Option Description
Stream ID Displays the ID number of the stream that will be used for the
RFC test.
The Stream ID is configured from the RFC Tests - Conf
screen.
Trial Duration Displays how long the test will run for each packet size. This
duration is used each time the test fails.
The Trial Duration is configured from the RFC Tests - Conf
screen.
BW Ceiling Displays the setting for the high-end of the bandwidth test
range.
The BW Ceiling is configured from the RFC Tests - Conf
screen.
WWN Dest
Address Displays the destination WWN address of the device that will
receive the RFC test.
The WWN Dest Address is configured for the selected
Stream ID from the Traffic Stream Profile on the Conf screen.
Dest Port Displays the destination port that will receive the test signal.
The destination port configuration setting is not supported
on the MPA.
BW Floor Displays the setting for the low-end of the bandwidth test
range.
The BW Floor is configured from the RFC Tests - Conf
screen.
Accept Lost Rate Sets a packet loss rate threshold. The test fails if packet loss
exceeds this value. Valid values are 0-100%. The default is
MPA_e_manual_D07-00-129P_RevA00
