STM Pointer Action.

H4 byte

Position and Sequence Indicator byte. This byte provides a multiframe and sequence
indicator for virtual VC-3/4 concatenation and a generalized position indicator for
payloads. See also

HP (HPOH)

HP-OK

HP-RDI

Higher-Order Path - Remote Defect Indicator (SDH only). In the Quick Status LEDs
area, an alarm LED indicating a signal was returned to the transmitting HP Terminating
Equipment upon detecting a Loss of Signal, Loss of Frame, or AIS defect.

HP-REI

Higher-Order Path - Remote Error Indication (SDH only). In the Quick Status LEDs
area, an error LED indicating to the transmitting node that an errored block has been
detected at the HP receiving node.

HP-UNEQ

Higher-Order Path - Unequipped (SDH only). In the Quick Status LEDs area, an alarm
LED indicating an all-zeros pattern was detected in the C2 byte. This byte is received
from the HP terminating equipment.
