• Administration of certain vasoconstrictive drugs, i.e. norepinephrine, may reduce
peripheral perfusion to a level that prevents SpO
2
measurements.
• Arterial compression, tricuspid regurgitation, or irregular heart rhythms may reduce
perfusion and prevent SpO
2
measurement.
• Intra-vascular dyes, depending on concentration, may affect SpO
2
measurements.

This message usually appears at power
up. The CO
2
subsystem has been reset
and is performing internal self tests prior to
operation.
Wait for the message to
go away. It takes about
15 seconds for the CO
2
subsystem to initialize.

: NO SENSOR
No CO
2
sensor is connected to the
monitor.
Attach the CO
2
sensor
to the CO
2
connector
(30).
CO
2
: SENSOR
WARMING UP
The CO
2
sensor has not reached its
operating temperature. Either the monitor
was just turned on or the sensor was
recently plugged in or the sensor was
removed from the adapter or calibration
cells.
Wait for the message to
go away. It takes up to
five minutes for the
sensor to
CO
2
:CHECK ADAPTER
The CO
2
sensor is not correctly placed on
the airway adapter or a different type of
airway adapter has been connected or the
adapter is dirty or damaged.
Check the installation
and condition of the
airway adapter. Clean
or replace the adapter if
necessary. An adapter
calibration should be
performed if the
message persists. This is
accessed through the
CO
2
menu.

: CHECK SENSOR
The CO
2
sensor is out of calibration or
damaged.
A zero calibration
should be performed if
the message persists.
This is accessed through
the CO
2
menu.
