Occupant safety
If the belts do not loosen:
왘
Move the backrest back slightly until
the belt tension is reduced.
The lock is released.
!
Make sure that there are no objects in the
footwell or behind the seats when adjusting the
seats. You could otherwise damage the seats
and the objects.
NECK-PRO comfort head restraints are de-
signed to increase protection of the driv-
er’s and front-passenger’s head and neck.
To this end, the NECK-PRO head restraints
on the driver’s and front-passenger seat
are moved forwards in the direction of trav-
el in the event of a rear-end collision. This
provides better head support.
If the NECK-PRO comfort head restraints
are triggered in an accident, you must re-
set the head restraints on the driver’s and
front-passenger seat (
컄
page 519). Other-
wise, the additional protection will not be
available in the event of another collision.
i
Have the NECK-PRO comfort head re-
straints reset at a qualified specialist workshop.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre for this purpose.
If a child is travelling in the vehicle:
앫
secure the child (preferably on a suita-
ble rear seat) using a child restraint
system which is appropriate to his/her
age and size and which has been ap-
proved for Mercedes-Benz vehicles
앫
make sure that the child is strapped in
throughout the trip
You can obtain information about the cor-
rect child restraint system from any
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
i
It is advisable to use Mercedes-Benz care
products for cleaning child restraint systems.
You can obtain information about this from any
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.

G
Risk of injury
If you use head restraint covers,
Mercedes-Benz recommends for safety
reasons that you only use head restraint
covers that have been tested for use in
Mercedes-Benz vehicles and that are suita-
ble for NECK-PRO. Otherwise, NECK-PRO
may not be triggered correctly and could fail
to provide the intended protection in the
event of an accident. You can obtain these
covers from a Mercedes-Benz Service Cen-
tre, for example.
