Make sure that you adhere to the minimum
distance required by law from the vehicle in
front. Adjust the distance from the vehicle in
front if necessary.
Distance warning system

To switch on or off:
you can switch
the distance warning system on or off
using the instrument cluster operating
system (
컄
page 245).
After the distance warning system has
been switched on, the

pears in the left of the multi-function
display.
This function warns you when the distance
to the vehicle in front is too small, even
when Distronic is deactivated:

lamp in the instrument cluster lights
up.

If you approach a vehicle in front at
high speed, you will also hear an inter-
mittent signal.
You must apply the brakes yourself in or-
der to maintain the correct distance to the
vehicle and to avoid a collision.

Distronic does not always clearly recognise
complex road and traffic conditions. You will
then receive a false distance warning signal or
none at all.
Setting a stored speed

Push the cruise control lever up

a higher speed or down

for a lower
speed.

Press and hold the cruise control lever
until the desired speed is set.

Release the cruise control lever.
The new speed is stored. Distronic is
activated and adjusts the vehicle’s
speed to the new stored speed.
Adjustment in 1 km/h increments

Press the cruise control lever briefly up
or down in the direction of arrow

Pay even more attention to the traffic situa-
tion if the

lamp in the instrument cluster is lit or an in-
termittent signal sounds.
Brake or swerve to avoid the obstacle if nec-
essary.

Only select a stored speed if you know what
that speed is and whether it is suitable for
the current situation. Otherwise, sudden ac-
celeration or braking could endanger you or
others.
