Switching on the cornering light
function

Switch on the turn signal using the
combination switch (

The cornering light on the side of the
turn signal comes on.

Turn the steering wheel in the desired
direction.
The cornering light on the side of the
vehicle on the inside of the corner
comes on.

If you have switched on the turn signal for
one side, but turn the steering wheel in the other
direction, the cornering light will be switched on
on the side of the turn signal.
i
If you turn the steering wheel in one direc-
tion and then immediately turn it in the other, the
cornering lights on both sides of the vehicle will
be switched on temporarily at the same time.
i
If you engage reverse gear, the cornering
light on the outside of the bend will be switched
on. The turn signal will have no effect on the cor-
nering light.
Switching off the cornering light

Switch off the turn signal using the
combination switch.
The cornering light is switched off.

Turn the steering wheel back to the
centre position.

The cornering light remains switched on un-
til you switch off the turn signals, even if the
steering wheel is in the centre position.
The cornering light may remain lit for a short
time. The cornering light may remain switched
on for a maximum of three minutes. It is then
switched off even if the turn signal is still
switched on or you have turned the steering
wheel to full lock.
The hazard warning lamps still operate if
the ignition is switched off. The hazard
warning lamps are switched on automati-
cally if an airbag has been deployed or if
you brake the vehicle sharply and bring it
to a halt from a speed of more than
70 km/h.

When you indicate a turn, only the turn sig-
nal lamps on that side of the vehicle are switched
on if the hazard warning lamps are switched on.
If the hazard warning lamps have been switched
on automatically, press the hazard warning lamp
button once to switch them off.
