!
You must deactivate the radar sensor sys-
tem in certain countries and near radio astro-
nomical installations (
컄
page 247).
If there is no vehicle in front, Distronic Plus
operates in the same way as cruise control
(
컄
page 303).
i
If Distronic Plus is activated and does not
detect a vehicle in front for a considerable time,
it will be deactivated after a short while thereaf-
ter.
i
Do not use Distronic Plus when driving on a
steep uphill or downhill gradient.

Distronic Plus cannot take weather condi-
tions into account. Deactivate Distronic Plus
or do not activate it:
앫
on slippery road surfaces, snow or ice.
The wheels may lose their grip when the
driver brakes or accelerates the vehicle.
The vehicle could go into a skid.
앫
when the sensors are dirty or there is
poor visibility, e.g. due to fog, rain or
snow. The proximity control may be im-
paired
Always pay attention to the traffic condi-
tions, even when Distronic Plus is activated.
You may otherwise fail to recognise dangers
in time, cause an accident and injure your-
self and others.
G
Risk of accident
Distronic Plus brakes your vehicle, depend-
ing on its speed, at a maximum of 4 m/s
2
.
This corresponds to approximately 40% of
your vehicle’s maximum braking power. You
must also apply the brakes yourself if this
braking power is not sufficient to avoid a col-
lision.
