Tyres and wheels

The operation of the tyre pressure monitor
can suffer interference if radio transmitting
equipment, e.g. radio headphones, two-way radi-
os, is being operated in or near the vehicle.

If you correct the tyre pressure or change
the wheels, this is usually detected automatical-
ly by the tyre pressure monitor. After a few min-
utes of driving, the warning thresholds for the
pressure loss warning are adapted to the new
tyre pressure. A tyre pressure warning is then
cleared automatically.
Reactivating the tyre pressure monitor
All existing warning messages are cleared
and the warning lamp goes out when you
reactivate the tyre pressure monitor. The
current tyre pressures set then become
the reference values used by the monitor-
ing system.
You may reactivate the tyre pressure mon-
itor in the following situations:

After the tyre pressure has been modi-
fied

After a wheel or tyre change

“Tyre pressure
monitor reactivated”

After a few minutes of driving, the cur-
rent tyre pressures will be adopted as
new reference values and will be moni-
tored.

display
If the following message appears in the
multi-function display:
“Rectify tyre pres-
sure(s)”

Check the pressures of all four tyres
and correct them if necessary.

If the wheels on the vehicle were inter-
changed, the pressures may be shown in the
wrong positions for a short time. This will be cor-
rected after driving a few minutes and the pres-
sures will be shown in the correct positions.
Interchanging the wheels

Risk of accident
Only interchange the front and rear wheels if
they are of the same size. The handling char-
acteristics of the vehicle may otherwise be
affected and you could endanger yourself or
others.
