Narrow vehicles
Distronic has still not detected the vehicle
in front on the edge of the carriageway be-
cause it is relatively narrow. The distance
to this vehicle will be too short.
Distronic Plus controls the speed and auto-
matically maintains a safe distance from
vehicles travelling in front. Distronic Plus
functions at speeds of between 0 and
200 km/h.
If a slower-moving vehicle is detected in
front, Distronic Plus causes your vehicle to
brake and thus maintain a preset distance
from the vehicle in front.

Risk of accident
Distronic Plus is only an aid designed to as-
sist driving. You are responsible for your ve-
hicle’s distance from other vehicles, the
speed of your vehicle and for braking in
good time.
Distronic Plus does not react to:
앫
pedestrians
앫
stationary obstacles in the road, e.g.
stationary or parked vehicles
앫
oncoming vehicles and cross traffic
Distronic Plus may not detect narrow vehi-
cles travelling in front, e.g. motorcycles and
vehicles travelling on a different line.
Therefore always pay attention to the traffic
conditions, even when Distronic Plus is acti-
vated. You may otherwise fail to recognise
dangers in time, cause an accident and in-
jure yourself and others.

Risk of accident
Distronic Plus cannot detect road and traffic
conditions. Deactivate Distronic Plus in driv-
ing situations in which it maintains the
speed or accelerates to the set speed be-
cause it has lost the vehicle travelling in
front, in particular:

before bends

in filter lanes
앫
when changing into a lane with fast traf-
fic
앫
on rerouted lanes, e.g. motorway works
