Engage reverse gear.
The area behind the vehicle is shown in
the COMAND display with guide lines
for the most recently selected parking
function.

Make sure that the function for reverse
parking is selected in COMAND.

Blue guide line for reversing in a
straight line

Yellow guide line for cornering
When you turn the steering wheel, the
space needed by the vehicle is shown
by the yellow guide line

Reverse carefully.
왘
Turn the steering wheel in such a way
that yellow guide lines for cornering

appear within the space where you
wish to park.
If nothing projects across the yellow
guide lines or is between the yellow
lines, this means that the space in
which you wish to park is wide enough.

As soon as blue guide line

for re-
versing in a straight line is parallel to
the space in which you wish to park,
turn the steering wheel to the straight
ahead position.
Parallel parking
This auxiliary function assists you when
you wish to park in a line, e.g. in a parking
space parallel to the road.
왘
Stop parallel to and approximately 1 m
from the vehicle in front of the parking
space.
왘
Stop in such a way that the front of the
parked vehicle is on a level with your
rear wheel.
왘
Engage reverse gear.
왘
Make sure that the function for parallel
parking is selected in COMAND.

Vertical guide line

Back up carefully, parallel to the vehi-
cle parked next to you until vertical
guide line

is at the end of the parked
vehicle.

Stop the vehicle.
