Rear sensors
!
Pay particular attention to objects above or
below the sensors when parking, such as flower
pots, a higher mounted cross bar or a trailer tow-
bar. Park Assist does not detect such objects
when they are in the immediate vicinity of the ve-
hicle. You could damage the vehicle or the ob-
jects.
i
The Park Assist sensors are integrated in the
front and rear bumpers. Make sure that the
bumper is free of dirt, ice or slush in the area of
the sensor, otherwise Park Assist may not func-
tion correctly (

page 420).
Warning displays
The warning displays show the distance
between the sensor and the obstacle. The
warning display for the front area is in the
instrument cluster. The warning display for
the rear area is at the rear in the roof lining.

under the seg-
ments light up.
The transmission position determines
which warning display is active:
One or more segments light up as
the vehicle approaches an obstacle, de-
pending on the vehicle’s distance from the
obstacle. When the first red segment lights
up, you will hear an intermittent warning
signal for approximately two seconds. Af-
ter the second red segment lights up, you
will hear a continuous warning signal. You
have reached the minimum distance.
