erage in certain areas
앫
you move from one GSM transmitter/
receiver area (GSM cell) into another
and no channels are free
앫
you use a SIM card which is not com-

bracket, you can operate the phone using
the following devices:
앫
Mobile phone keypad
앫
COMAND/telephone keypad
앫
Multi-function steering wheel
앫
Linguatronic*
앫

앫
Bluetooth headset
i
In order for the functions described in this
section to work correctly, the Bluetooth headset
must be linked to COMAND. It must not be linked
to the mobile phone. Make sure that any Blue-
tooth headset linked to the mobile phone is
switched off or that the headset is no longer
linked to the mobile phone before you use the
functions described in this section.
The descriptions in this section assume
that the mobile phone is inserted in the
bracket. Exceptions to this are clearly stat-
ed.
Unless otherwise indicated, the descrip-
tions and illustrations in this section refer
to COMAND and the telephone keypad.

Safety notes
G
Risk of accident
You must observe the legal requirements in
the country in which you are currently driv-
ing when operating a mobile phone in the ve-
hicle.
If it is permitted to operate a mobile phone
while the vehicle is in motion, you must only
operate it when road and traffic conditions
permit. You could otherwise be distracted
from the traffic conditions, cause an acci-
dent and injure yourself and others.
For reasons of safety, only use hands-free
mode if you use the telephone while the ve-
hicle is in motion.
If you use hands-free mode to make a call,
you must continue to drive carefully, close
all the windows and prevent any disruptive
noises.
If you wish to make a telephone call without
using hands-free mode, you must stop or
park the vehicle. Do not stop or park in are-
as where stopping and parking is forbidden.
G
Risk of accident
Mobile phones without exterior aerials may
interfere with the vehicle electronics and
thereby jeopardise the operational safety of
the vehicle. You must therefore only use
these devices when they are connected to a
separate exterior aerial which has been ap-
proved by Mercedes-Benz.
