The server comes with two 92 mm x 38 mm hot-swap fans in the fan cage assembly. The following
instructions can be used to install any hot-swap fan in the server.

2. You can order the two additional fans for redundant cooling.
Attention:
Static electricity that is released to internal server components when the server is powered-on
might cause the server to halt, which might result in the loss of data. To avoid this potential problem,
always use an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system when you work inside the
server with the power on.
Read the safety information in “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on page 29.
If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices,
and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
To remove a hot-swap fan, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Carefully turn the server on its side so that it is lying flat, with the cover facing up.
Step 2.
Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see “Removing the left-side cover” on page 182).
Step 3.
Open the fan locking and pull it up from the fan cage assembly.
