Step 12. Perform any configuration tasks that are required for the adapter.
If you have other devices to install or remove, do so now. Otherwise, go to “Completing the installation”
on page 97.
Installing an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module
Use this information to install an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module.
Read the safety information in “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on page 29.
If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices,
and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
To install an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module, complete the following steps.
Step 1. Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see “Removing the left-side cover” on page 49).
Step 2. Remove the air baffle (see “Removing the air baffle” on page 188).
Step 3. Locate the ServeRAID adapter which you will install the memory module. Remove the ServeRAID
adapter if necessary.
Step 4. Touch the static-protective package that contains the memory card to any unpainted metal surface
on the server; then, remove the memory card from the package.
Step 5. Align the memory module with the connector on the ServeRAID adapter and push it into the
connector until it is firmly seated.
