Step 2.
Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see “Removing the left-side cover” on page 182).
Step 3.
Remove the air baffle (see “Removing the air baffle” on page 188).
Step 4.
Align the battery or flash power module holder with the location of the server to install the battery
or flash power module holder.

Step 5.
Make sure that the battery or flash power module holder is secured firmly.
Step 6.
Reinstall the air baffle (see “Replacing the air baffle” on page 189).
Step 7.
Install and lock the left-side cover (see “Installing the left-side cover” on page 183).
If you have replaced a server component or installed an optional device in the server, you need to reconnect
the power cords and all external cables, and turn on the server and peripheral devices.
Removing and replacing Tier 1 CRUs
Replacement of Tier 1 CRUs is your responsibility. If Lenovo installs a Tier 1 CRU at your request, you will
be charged for the installation.
