When communicating
between a PC or PDA, or
PDA and lock or exit
hardware trim you see a
message that
communications has failed.
a. Communications cable(s) is
(are) not connected properly.
a. Check all cable connections.
b. The primary wire harness is
damaged or disconnected.
b. Check the primary wire harness. If it’s
damaged, replace the wire harness.

c. Communications cable or port
is faulty or damaged.
c. Try communicating with another device or
PC. If communications works, the
communication cable and serial cables are
not the problem. If communications does
not work, replace the cable(s).
