8. Adjust the variable optical attenuation to set the optical power
meter display to around –1 dBm (0.8 mW).
9. Record the optical power meter display P (dBm).
10. Disconnect the optical fiber from the optical power meter and
connect it to the O/E Data In connector.
11. Touch [O/E].
12. Touch the [Wavelength] button and set to 850.
13. Touch [EYE/Pulse Scope], and then set the value as follows:
CH_A: Off
CH_B: On
14. Set [Sampling] to Run.
15. Touch [Measure] and [Amplitude/Time].
16. Add [Average Power (dBm)] in the Item Selection.
17. Record the displayed Average Power (dBm).
18. Turn off the light source output.
19. Connect the output connector of the light source and the input
connector of the variable optical attenuator for single-mode fiber,
using a single-mode optical fiber.
20. Connect the output connector of the variable optical attenuator
for single-mode fiber and the optical power meter, using a
single-mode optical fiber.
21. Set the light source wavelength to 1310 nm.
22. Set the optical power meter wavelength to 1310 nm.
23. Repeat steps 7 to 11.
24. Touch the [Wavelength] button and set to 1310.
25. Repeat steps 14 to 18.
26. Set the light source wavelength to 1550 nm.
27. Set the optical power meter wavelength to 1550 nm.
28. Repeat steps 7 to 11.
29. Touch the [Wavelength] button and set to 1550.
30. Repeat steps 14 to 18.
