When the DUT changes the signal level using the optical receiver:
When measuring the sensibility of the optical receiver, connect to the
optical attenuator to change the signal level input to the DUT.
Connect to the optical power meter to measure the optical level.
Use the optical coupler to bifurcate the optical signal into the optical
power meter and DUT.
An optical switch can be used in place of the optical coupler.
1. Connect the PPG2 Data Out and Tx Data In using a coaxial cable.
2. Connect the coaxial terminator provided with the BERTWave to
PPG2
Data
Out.
3. Connect the DUT output connector and ED2
Data
In/Data In
using a coaxial cable.
4. Connect the optical output connector of the BERTWave optical
transceiver to the input connector of the optical attenuator using an
optical fiber.
5. Connect the output connector of the optical attenuator to the optical
coupler.
6. Connect one end of the optical coupler to the input connector of the
DUT.
7. Connect another end of the optical coupler to the optical power
meter.
