Triggers

 

Edge Trigger

The Edge trigger type identifies a trigger by looking for a specified edge 
(slope) and voltage level on a waveform. You can define the trigger source 
and slope in this menu. The trigger type, source, and level are displayed in 
the upper- right corner of the display.

On the front panel, in the Trigger section, press the 

[Trigger]

 key.

In the Trigger Menu, press the 

Trigger

 softkey, and use the Entry knob 

to select 

Edge

.

Select the trigger source:

•

Analog channel, 

1

 to the number of channels

•

Digital channel (on mixed- signal oscilloscopes), 

D0

 to the number of 

digital channels minus one.

•

External

 — triggers on the rear panel EXT TRIG IN signal.

•

Line

 — triggers at the 50% level of the rising or falling edge of the AC 

power source signal.

•

WaveGen

 — triggers at the 50% level of the rising edge of the 

waveform generator output signal. (Not available when the DC, Noise, 
or Cardiac waveforms are selected.)

You can choose a channel that is turned off (not displayed) as the 
source for the edge trigger.

The selected trigger source is indicated in the upper- right corner of the 
display next to the slope symbol:

Slope

 softkey and select rising edge, falling edge, alternating 

edges, or either edge (depending on the selected source). The selected 
slope is displayed in the upper- right corner of the display.
