Perform the following procedure after bleeding air with the
unit removed from the outboard motor (P. 14-33) and hydraulic
pressure inspection (P. 14-36).
1) Install the power tilt/trim assembly on the outboard motor
(P. 14-39).
Push the "UP" side of the power tilt switch to raise the
outboard motor to the uppermost position.

the edge of the oil filler port of the oil tank.
If the ATF does not flow out of the oil filler port, pour the

3) Lower the outboard motor slowly to the lowermost
position by loosening the manual valve.
4) Tighten the manual valve securely.
Hold the outboard motor in the lowermost position for five
minutes.
5) Push the "UP" side of the power tilt switch to raise the
outboard motor to the uppermost position.

the edge of the oil filler port of the oil tank.
Check that the milky color ATF (bubbles in the ATF) does
not flow out of the oil filler port.
• Check the ATF level with the piston rod extended fully.
• Note that the ATF will spout out if the oil hole cap is
removed with the piston rod compressed fully.
6) Repeat the procedure from the step 3 through the step 5
