b. REASSEMBLY
1) Tighten a new 8 x 26 mm stud bolt fully, then turn it back
1/4 to 3/4 turns from the fully tightened position.
2) Apply rust-preventive agent to the hatched parts of the
friction plate where it contacts the mount frame and to the
hatched part of the swivel case where it contacts the
friction block shown.
3) Align the projection on the swivel case with the cutout in
the friction block, and install the friction block on the swivel
case with the friction block's disc surface toward up
(toward the engine under case).
• When the disc surface of either or both the friction blocks
are worn out, replace the friction blocks with new ones as
a set.
• Check the friction block's disc surface for contamination
with oil or grease. Clean the disc surface thoroughly if
necessary.
