5. REASSEMBLY
a. PISTON ASSEMBLY
1) Install a new piston pin clip on one side of the piston.
• Take care not to pot out the piston pin clip.
• Install the piston pin clip with care not to align the piston
pin clip end gap with the cutout in the piston pin bore.
2) Apply molybdenum disulfide oil to the outer surface of the
piston pin, inner wall of the piston pin bore and to the inner
wall of the connecting rod small end.
Install the connecting rod on the piston so the " " mark on
the piston head and the model mark on the connecting rod
are in the same direction.
3) Install a new piston pin clip on the other side of the piston
(i.e. opposite side from the step 1).
• Take care not to pot out the piston pin clip.
• Install the piston pin clip with care not to align the piston
pin clip end gap with the cutout in the piston pin bore.
4) Install each connecting rod bearing aligning the projection
on the connecting rod bearing with the recess in the
connecting rod.
