Manual paper end sensor
The manual paper end photo reflection-based sensor, detects whether or not the cut
sheet is in the manual feed slot, and also detects the end of the cut sheet.
If the sensor receives the light reflected from the paper surface, the printer
recognizes that print paper is available.
The printer determines that the paper feeding operation is possible only if the
manual set sensor has detected that paper is set, and the manual paper end sensor
has detected that paper is available.
Manual feed sensor
The manual feed photo reflection-based sensor, detects whether or not the paper is
in the manual feed unit.
If the sensor receives the light reflected from the paper surface, the printer
recognizes that the print paper resides in the manual feed unit.
Spur sensor
The spur photo interrupter-based sensor, detects the open/closed
(released/pressing) state of the spur unit.
When the spur unit is open (pressing), the rotary flag interlocked with the spur
open/close cam shaft blocks the light emitted from the sensor. Thus the open
(pressing) state of the super unit is detected.
Eject sensor
The eject sensor, a photo interrupter-based sensor, detects whether or not there is
paper in the paper delivery slot.
When the paper is carried through the paper delivery slot, the sensor light is blocked
by the eject sensor arm, indicating the presence of paper.
Cutter sensor
The cutter sensor, a magnet-based sensor, detects the position of the cutter. The
cutter unit has two sensors built in, one on the right side and the other on the left
side of the cutter unit. The right sensor detects the metal portion of the cutter when
it moves to the right end, and similarly the left sensor detects the metal portion of
the cutter when it moves to the left end.
