3.9 Paper Path

3.9.1 Overview of Paper Path

The components that constitute the paper path include: cassette A (upper), cassette B
(lower), the manual feed unit, conveyer/paper delivery segments, the feed roller motor
that drives all components except the pressure rollers and the cutter, and the sensors
that detect the paper. Through this paper path, the pick up, feeding, and delivery
operations of the paper (automatic feed for the roll media, and manual feed for the cut
sheet media) are performed.

The diagram below illustrates the paper path. The following sections describe the
general functions of the components associated with the paper path.
