4.6 Mech. controller

4.6.1 Mech. controller Components

a) I/O IC (IC607)

Retrieves the status information of the sensors and sends the drive signals for the
motor driver under the control of the system controller.

b) I/O IC (IC611)

Sends drive signals for the pressure roller motor and the cutter motor (both DC
driven) under the control of the system controller.

c) Motor drivers (IC604, IC605 and IC606)

Drives the purge motor, the wiper motor, and the valve motor all of which are 2-
phase stepping motors with a constant current.

d) Driver IC (IC614)

Drives the DC cutter motor.

e) Driver IC (IC616)

Drives the head replacement cover solenoid(s).

f) Operational amplifier (IC608 and IC610)

Detects the voltage change in the sub tank sensor.
