: Carriage motor current overload error

<Cause>

Current overload in the carriage motor.

<Probable faulty component>

Foreign matter on the carriage path, carriage shaft/rail, carriage unit, carriage
motor, motor controller, system controller.

<Action>

1. Check the carriage path:

Visually check the carriage path for abnormal conditions, such as paper jamming
the path.
Set release lever (a) and/or release lever (b) to the appropriate positions when
released.

2. Check the carriage shaft/rail:

Visually check the carriage shaft/rail for any stains, and wipe the component with
a lint free paper which generates less paper dust.

3. Replace the carriage unit.
4. Check the carriage motor.

Check the cabling of the carriage motor (3 phases), and replace it if faulty.
Normal value: the resistance between the three electrodes must be about 1.3

5. Replace the motor controller.
6. Replace the system controller.
