b) Motor controller GA (IC1210)
Interface controller
Controls the interface with the CPU.
Encoder counter
The encoder value, which the encoder mounted on the carriage unit reads from the
linear scale, and the rotary encoder value of the feed roller motor are counted and
handled by this encoder counter.
Servo control
Controls the duration of the impressed voltage (impressed electromotive force) of
the drive pulses used for the carriage motor and the feed roller motor by using the
values from the encoder counter to provide the feedback on the carriage motor and
the feed motor. This process allows the carriage and feed motors to operate
smoothly.
c) Carriage motor driver (IC1217)
Drives the carriage motor, which is a 3-phase DC brushless motor. Also detects the
current applied to the carriage motor from the resistor (R1392).
d) Feed motor driver (IC1213)
Drives the feed motor, which is a DC servo motor. Also detects the current applied to
the feed motor from the resistor (R1375).
e) Relay (RL1200)
The relay shuts off the voltage (+24V) being supplied to the carriage motor and the
feed motor in the following conditions.
• When a reset is performed.
• When the overcurrent is applied to the carriage motor or the feed motor.
• When the top cover, the right upper cover, the front cover, the cassette A of B, or
the left lower cover is opened.
• When the supply voltage, +24, goes down to +17.8V or less.
f) EEPROM (IC1203)
This 128byte EEPROM is for research/development only.
g) LED (LED1200)
This LED turns green when +24V for the motor driving is being supplied to the
motor controller.
h) LED (LED1201)
This LED turns green when +5V for the logic operation is being supplied to the
motor controller.
i) LED (LED1202)
This LED turns red only if overcurrent is supplied to the carriage motor.
j) LED (LED1203)
This LED turns red only if overcurrent is supplied to the feed motor.
k) LED (LED 1204 and LED1205)
These LEDs are for the R&D/factory use.
