3.7 Waste ink tank Unit

3.7.1 Construction of waste ink tank

a) Waste ink tank

The waste-ink tank can contain a maximum of about 2000ml of waste-ink.
The waste ink tank locking lever can be lowered only when the waste ink tank has
been fully inserted. Unless the waste ink tank locking lever has been lowered, the
ink passage will not be established.

b) Waste ink tank full detector

The waste ink tank full detection detector is at the bottom of the rear of the unit.
When the amount of the waste ink accumulated in the waste ink tank exceeds the
upper limit of about 1900g (about 1800ml), the weight of the waste ink tank will
activate the microswitch to indicate that the waste ink tank is full.

c) Ink leakage detector

The ink leakage detector is at the bottom of the rear of the unit. This electrode-type
ink leakage sensor detects the ink leakage through ink conductivity.
