b) Outline of manual ink drain

Follow these steps to perform manual ink drain.

Step 1 Both the ink that is in the carriage unit, and the ink contained in the ink

tubes which connect the carriage unit to the sub-tank unit, should be
poured into the sub-tank at the same time.

Step 2 Discharge the ink from one of the 6 close sub-tanks after creating the ink

passage required to discharge the ink contained in that close sub-tank.

Step 3 Change the ink passage and discharge the ink contained in the ink tube

(including the ink in the check valve) between the ink bottle unit and the
close sub-tank unit, which contains the same color ink as the sub-tank from
which the ink was discharged in step 2.

Step 4 Repeat step 2 and step 3 for the remaining 5 colors.
