6.2 System Controller Version Up Software

This is the service software tool that operates with the SCSI interface. It has the
following four functions.

6.2.1 Confirmation of Firmware Version

Obtains and confirms the printer’s current firmware version (System Controller, Motor
Controller and Carriage Controller).

6.2.2 Upgrading the System Controller

Enables the user to download the System Controller firmware to the printer and then
to upgrade its version. If the printer power is on, it is possible to download the
firmware without being influenced by printer status. (Even if the printer installation
is not completed.)
However, the firmware cannot be downloaded from the printer.
