11) Wind back the media by turning the spindle so that the leading edge is properly

aligned with the upper edge of the guide plate.

Make sure that the leading edge of the loaded media is straight and clean.
If it is not, unwind and trim the media as necessary. Slide a cutter along
the guide plate to cut the media.

12) Close the media cassette. The message display will ask you to specify the type of

media to be loaded in the media cassette.
Select the media type and press the down arrow key; the printer feeds the paper
forward, cuts off 70mm or so from the leading edge, and then winds it back into
the media cassette.
Or select the media type and press the up arrow key; the printer feeds the paper
forward without cutting off the leading edge.

• The current media type can be checked on the printer driver screen.
• The printer will display the media-type setting screen upon detecting the

opening of a media cassette for 5 seconds.
