<Cause>

The spur sensor did not detect the base position (sensor transmission) within the
predefined time period.

<Probable faulty component>

Spur sensor, spur clutch, spur unit, feed motor, motor controller, mech. controller,
system controller.

<Action>

1. Visual inspection:

Visually check the paper path, spur unit and the spur sensor for abnormal
conditions, such as trapped foreign matter.

2. Replace the spur sensor.
3. Replace the spur clutch.
4. Replace the spur unit.
5. Check the feed motor:

Replace the cable if the cable check of the feed motor fails.
Normal value: the resistance between the two electrodes must be about 3.6

Ω

6. Replace the motor controller.
7. Replace the mech. controller.
8. Replace the system controller.
