2. OTHER PRECAUTIONS

2.1 BJ print Head

2.1.1 How to handle the BJ print head

Do not open the BJ print head package until you are ready to install the head.
To install the BJ print head, gently remove the protection cap from the nozzles. Do not
replace the protection cap once you have removed it from the BJ print head, since the
cap may scratch the nozzles.
To prevent the nozzles from getting clogged with foreign matter or dried ink, install the
BJ print head immediately after you remove the protection cap. Also make sure to
press down the locking lever of the BJ print head until you feel a click.
In addition, to prevent clogging of the nozzles, never touch the nozzle unit or ink
supply unit of the BJ print head, or wipe it with tissue paper or anything else.
Never attempt to disassemble the BJ print head or to wash it with water.

If the nozzles are clogged or purging operation is poor, white horizontal
lines can appear in the printed output. If the problem is not resolved by
cleaning operations, replace the BJ print head with a new one.
