b) When the printer is not operating properly

1) Make sure that the

power switch

is turned off.

2) Disconnect the interface cable and the power cord (and the ground wire) from the

printer.

3) Open the lower-right cover. Raise the ink bottle locking levers and remove all the

ink bottles.

4) Discharge ink from the printer, referring to

Part 5: 5.2.4 Manual Ink Drain (Page 5-

5) If the waste ink tank is filled with waste ink, empty it and re-install it.
6) Attach the cap and the carriage fixing plate, referring to

Part 3: 3.1.3 Manual

Capping (Page 3-27)

7) Make sure that all the exterior covers are attached properly.
8) Remove the roll media from the roll media cassettes.
9) Raise all the foot adjusters to the highest position.
10) Refer to

Part 3: 2.1.3 Removing packing materials (Page 3-10)

and attach protective

materials and protective tapes.

11) Pack the printer into the packing box, and put the roll media, ink bottle, and

optional devices in another packing box for transportation.
Use the original packing material for the printer and optional devices; if it is not
available, pack them with a sufficient amount of cushioning materials.
