2.1.4 Removing the carriage fixing plate

Remove the carriage fixing plate (fastened with one screw) from the carriage.
The carriage fixing plate is needed when transporting the printer. Open the lower left
cover. remove the waste-inktank, and store the fixing plate for future use at the back
of the waste-ink tank box.

When removing the carriage fixing plate, take care not to bring it into
contact with the linear scale, as it may scratch the linear scale, which can
cause it to operate incorrectly.

In order to avoid ink leakage and damage to the head, secure the carriage
with the carriage fixing attachment before moving the printer. Make sure
that the hooks on the fixing attachment are secured on the carriage after
the fixing attachment is installed.
