Errored Second (ES) is a second with one or more error events OR one or more Out
Of Frame events OR one or more Controlled Slips

Bursty Errored Second (BES) is a second with more than one, but less than 320 error
events

Severely Errored Second (SES) is a second with 320 or more error events OR one or
more Out Of Frame events

AS

Unavailable Second is a second in which the E1 was not available for use (due to
outage, alarms, etc.).

Controlled Slip Second

EFS

Severely Errored Frame Second is a second that contains four consecutive errored
framing patterns

Degraded Minutes is the number of minutes with a bit error rate of 10

or greater

CV

Line Code Violation indicates a mismatch in line coding somewhere in the network
and is determined by receiving an invalid line violation (bipolar violation).

CV

Path Code Violation is a received error in the frame synchronization bit (for non
CRC framing) or a CRC error (CRC framing).

ES

Line Errored Second is a second in which an error was received on the T1.

OFC

Loss of Frame Count is a count of seconds in which a valid framing pattern could not
be obtained
