Selecting the Media Cut Mode
The media cut mode setting determines where the cut will occur on standard and
non-standard size copies which are printed on roll media. The following methods are
available.
• Standard Portrait
Cuts the copy to the standard size that matches the
dimensions of a standard size document that is scanned in a
portrait (vertical) orientation.
• Standard Landscape Cuts the copy to the standard size that matches the
dimensions of a standard size document that is scanned in a
landscape (horizontal) orientation.
• Synchronized
Used primarily with non-standard size documents, the
Synchronized cut mode cuts the media to the same
dimensions as the document. When reduction or enlargement
is selected, the copy will retain the same length to width ratio
as the original. Top and bottom margins that range from 0 to
999 mm also can be added to the copy.
• Variable Length
Cuts the roll media to a specified length, that is, from 210 to
15,000 mm.
The advanced media cut mode settings are set up on the touch screen when the
<Synchronized> key and the <Variable Length> key are pressed.
Refer to "1.14 Cutting Roll Media" for further more details on this function.
