Checks and Adjustments
Tensioning the cap/wipe/purge drive belts
Self-tensioners set the proper tension for each cap/wipe/purge drive belt.
1.
Turn off the printer. If not already removed, remove the left- and
right-side panels and the top panel as described in the topic “Cabinet
panels and covers” on page 8-4. Remove the metal dust cover as
described in the topic “Ink loader support/cross member” on
page 8-11.
2.
Loosen each cap/wipe purge belt tensioner set screw. You can reach
each set screw through an access hole in the left and right side frame.
3.
Gently rotate the belts slightly. Do not force belt movement or allow
the belts to jump the gear teeth or the ca/wipe/purge may be
misaligned to the printhead.
4.
Tighten the set screws.
5.
Reassemble the printer and make a test print.
